SILVER MEDAL FOR ITALY
Last three World titles awarded in the afternoon at U.C.I. Para-Cycling Road World Championships 2018 in Maniago (PN). Gold medals for Irish Katie-George Dunlevy/Eve McCrystal (WB) and for Spanish Avilla Rodriguez – Joan Font Bertoli (MB). After an amazing challenge with many fans on Maniago’s roads, American David Randall – William Groulx – Oscar Sanchez won the awaited “Team Relay”, last ride of the World Championships. Second the Italian team made by Paolo Cecchetto – Luca Mazzone – Alessandro Zanardi and third Spanish riders Israel Rider-Sergio Garrote Munoz-Cascallana Garcia Marquina, with 59’’ of gap from USA athletes. First place for Italy in the National Medal Ranking; in this World Championships organized by ASD Giubileo Disabili Roma chaired by Mr. Mauro Valentini, were present more athletes that at Paralympic Games of Rio de Janeiro 2016.
